Up Close and Personal

Whether it's a good or bad thing, using public transport really gets a person close to their fellow man.

You share everything from telephone conversations about how, "he doesn't deserve you girl" to the weekly/monthly nail clipping.

Another of my favourites are the smells, from a yummy breakfast role or someone who decides to "share their dinner with us", their digested dinner that is, in the form of you know what.

This morning I had the pleasure of sitting behind a gentleman who is clearly comfortable in his skin, regardless of when last he decided to wash it.

Now I'm sorry but I've been taught that, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" and I'm sure regardless of what religion you may be your "God" would want you to smell at least a little fresher.

Maybe he's not religious?

None-the-less people, please, soap is cheap, bye a cake and bath, or even eat it.

Halitosis however is a topic for another day.

Unseen and Forgotten Wonder

Besides being damn cold, which I enjoy anyway, winter can reveal some things we take for granted.

One such thing I observed is the steam coming from the noses and mouths of my fellow travellers. Something we so easily take for granted. The body's ability to just carry on without much effort from us.

Look out for those little things and never forget about the unseen wonders that happen without our interference.

Hope for Humanity

My faith in humanity is slowly being restored.

With the madness that has been this week, at work, I've forgotten to renew my bus pass. Only realised that this morning as I got on the bus. Guess what?! Bus driver let me in anyway.

Thank you Mr Bus Driver Man.

Battling the Hoards

So I'm the only person at the stop and as the bus turns the corner a hoard of people come chasing after it. As it stops and I make ready to get on, two of said people feel that's it's ok for them to push me out the way and get on.

I sound like my grandmother now, but people have no manners.

The good thing though is that the bus driver is a very friendly lady who greeted me with a big smile and a "Good morning", there is still hope for mankind.
